10 Questions for the Dalai Lama  (1hour
: 29min)

If you could meet one person in the world, who would it
be and why? This was a question filmmaker Rick Ray
posed to himself many years ago. His answer was 'The
Dalai Lama', a man who always seemed to speak the
truth, from his heart and with humor and soulfulness. As
he grew up, Ray never imagined he would meet the
man who many have called The Living Reincarnation of
Buddha (but who calls himself 'A Simple Monk'). Then,
when asked to make a travel documentary film about
India, a disreputable producer promised Ray that if he
worked on the project for almost nothing, an interview
with the Dalai Lama would be arranged. But in fact, the
producer had never made a plan for an interview with
His Holiness and when Ray arrived in India, he found
himself on his own with one thought on his mind - meet
this great man and record his thoughts. In an era when
no one trusts religious and political leaders, and when
cynical agendas rule both government and clergy, the
Dalai Lama is a breath of fresh air. Along with Martin
Luther King, Ghandi and Jesus, this great leader
inspires millions and has changed and influenced the
world in so many ways. This is his story, as told and
filmed by Rick Ray during a private visit to his
monastery in Dharamsala, India over the course of
several months. Part biography, part philosophy, part
adventure and part politics, this is the definitive film
about His Holiness and should be enjoyed for
generations to come. As China solidifies its hold on
Tibet, and has even gone so far as to hand pick an
imposter to select the next Dalai Lama, this message is
more important than ever.
