The Missing Peace (23 min)
THE MISSING PEACE is the story of 14-year-old girl Larmort (“death”
in English) who lives in a small village outside Port-Au Prince, Haiti,
where a government coup has just occurred, with her wise but weary
grandmother, Madame Rose. Madame Rose warns her to stay away
from the soldiers. Lamort and her grandmother rent a room to an
American journalist, Emilie, who solicits the help of Lamort to help find
her own mother, that took part in the coup. Lamort agrees to help
Emilie and leads her to the infamous gravesite where unclaimed
bodies lay. They run into one of the soldiers, Toto, who is on guard
and stops Emilie and Lamort in their tracks. Toto is immediately
suspicious of the journalist, and holds them back at gunpoint.
Raymond, Lamort’s soldier friend convinces Toto to let them go. Toto
spares them. Lamort and Emilie go back to the guesthouse. As the
evening progresses, Emilie finds out the truth about what really
happened to her mother the night of the coup. Through this
experience a bond is formed, and Emilie helps Lamort find her true
identity. Lamort decides to shed her name, “death”, and take on the
name of her mother, Mary Magdalene, and finds her missing peace in
her civil war torn county of Haiti.

The Package (23 min)

crossword puzzle-obsessed, half-deaf, ex-boxer brother Sugar (Darrel
Heath) try to convince their ex-partner in crime Vance, aka: Bruce
(Richard T. Jones) to help them bury a mysterious package in the
desert. There’s a $75,000 payday waiting if they follow the
instructions on the ransom-style note. But Bruce doesn’t go along with
Bounce’s latest scheme easily, for this type of behavior doesn’t sit
well with his wife, Melissa (Marsha Thomason) and their new,
domesticated, straight-laced life. The contents of the package remain
unknown until they reach the burial spot where they decide to take a
look, and what they find inside changes everything.
